The very popular Filipino food/dish Sisig is originated from this city and has been on the Filipino menu since the 1730\\\'s. Thus Angeles City has also become well-known as the culinary center of the province of Pampanga. The famous Mount Pinatubo which erupted during June 1991 produced the second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century and the largest eruption ever recorded is in this city. Notable festivals are Tigtigan Terakan keng Dalan (Music and Dancing on the Streets) is held every last Friday and Saturday night of the month of October. It is the biggest street party held each year in the Angeles City, which lasts up to the wee hours of the next day. This festival features music from amateur and OPM (Original Pilipino Music) bands. The Sisig Festival (Sadsaran Qng Angeles) is also held every year in the month of December, celebrating the Kapampangan dish, Sisig. Angeles City is also the home of some famous local and international artist like Lea Salonga, apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas, and Pepe Smith a Filipino Rock icon.
